We are seeking a skilled professional to advise and influence leaders within the Rail Delivery Group's Railway Engineering Graduate Scheme and the wider railway engineering community.

This role is focused on ensuring the railway has engineers with the necessary skills to provide an excellent service to rail users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise RDG and the REGS Steering Group on engineering skill gaps within the sector.
  • Assist in the development of the scheme and additional solutions to meet industry requirements.
  • Own the training policy for Developing Engineers joining the industry engineering community.
  • Act as REGS Advisor to developing engineers and mentors.
  • Attend and deliver graduate start-up meetings, guiding new entrants through UK Spec and IMechE requirements.
  • Review progress of competencies through MPDS and ensure timely reporting.
  • Deliver quarterly training advisor reports to REGS Steering Group.
  • Support the continued development of the scheme and its graduates by reviewing and updating training provision.
  • Support the Industry Early Career Manager with the delivery of annual REGS Inductions and Conference.
  • Support the accreditation/re-accreditation of the scheme by professional institutions.
Requirements
  • Registered as CEng or IEng with IMechE or IET.
  • Active IET or IMechE member with a strong reputation in the engineering community.
  • Previous experience as a Mentor, supporting the development of mechanical/electrical engineers.
  • Familiarity with the rail sector and the skills engineers require.
