Strategic Medical Director for Health Inequalities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Medical Director for Health Inequalities to join our senior leadership team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. This is a trust-wide post that involves working with colleagues at all hospital sites, fostering a culture of excellence in patient care and reducing health inequalities.

Main Duties
  1. Provide professional leadership to medical and dental staff, promoting continuing professional development and excellence in patient care.
  2. Secure effective engagement with clinicians at all levels, encouraging cross-professional collaboration to deliver service improvement.
  3. Advocate for and role model the use of quality improvement methodologies to improve health and reduce health inequalities.
  4. Lead on reducing health inequalities through various workstreams.
  5. Develop innovative ideas and solutions to address health inequalities, working with colleagues and key stakeholders.
  6. Provide strong individual and professional leadership through a compassionate and problem-solving approach.
  7. Work collaboratively as part of a cohesive team, taking lead responsibility for Health Inequalities.
  8. Represent Health Inequalities workstreams and the CMO office in meetings, contributing to and chairing discussions as appropriate.
  9. Support high-quality care and professional standards, working closely with the CMO Office to implement relevant strategy.
  10. Encourage a culture that supports continuous service development and improvement, innovation, and excellence across the CMO office and the Trust.
