About the Role

The Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a Senior Occupational Therapist - Assessment and Support, you will work closely with Social Workers and Wellbeing Officers to complete urgent Occupational Therapy assessments and provide advice on care packages.

The successful candidate will have a caseload of adults with complex needs, requiring assessment for equipment and major adaptations. You will also be responsible for supervising staff in the team and working closely with other teams within Social Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete urgent Occupational Therapy assessments to support care packages
  • Provide advice on level of care needed and suitable equipment and adaptations
  • Supervise staff in the team and work closely with other teams within Social Services
  • Work with families in distress in a reliable, tactful, and sensitive way

Requirements

  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Minimum of three years postgraduate experience, at least two of which have been in Social Services
  • Working knowledge of the effects of illness and disability
  • Ability to work as a team player with well-developed skills in a Social Services setting

Working Arrangements

The post is based at Canolfan Ty Jenner, with a working pattern to be agreed. The successful candidate will be required to work 27 hours per week.
