About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Total Resourcing Ltd. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will play a critical role in delivering projects at various phases, from Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to commissioning, or in assistance to Plant Operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Standards and Practices
    • Ensure the deployment of appropriate and adequate design standards and practices.
    • Deliver safe, legal, and adequately underpinned solutions and deliverables.
  • Design Review Activities
    • Perform design review activities in a timely manner.
  • Subject Matter Experts
    • Engage subject matter experts in a timely manner.
    • Capture, disseminate, and utilize LFE (Lessons Learned and Feedback).
  • Technical Studies
    • Manage technical studies related to mechanical handling for both handling operations and heavy mechanical transfer systems.
    • Manage studies for powder mechanical processes (transport, milling, and compaction) in high-active environments and gloveboxes.
    • Manage compaction and mechanical dismantling technologies.
  • Design of Mechanical Processes
    • Manage the design of mechanical processes from strategic and conceptual phases to detailed design and construction & commissioning phase support.
    • Deliver technical notes, substantiation notes, mechanical flow diagrams, flow-sheets, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical layout drawings.
    • Manage hazards and malfunctions, and technical specification documentation review from the supply chain.
  • Travel and Stakeholder Management
    • Travel may be required between Client's sites.
    • Manage stakeholders effectively.

  • Education and Experience
    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant degree.
    • 10+ years' experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
  • Industry Experience
    • Experience of engineering design in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors.
    • Experience of mechanical studies delivery in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors.
    • Experience of contractor follow-up in the nuclear industry or other regulated sectors.
  • Security Clearance and Professional Membership
    • Hold a minimum of 'SC' UK Security Clearance.
    • Member of relevant professional body.
