About the Role

Carrington West is seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highways team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working on highway and infrastructure schemes from feasibility through to implementation. You will provide expertise and direction to the project team on highway design and construction.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design Responsibility: You will be responsible for designing highways and infrastructure projects, utilizing local staff, contractor staff, and sub-consultants as required.
  • Project Management: You will manage design and disciplines for projects, collate project information, and liaise with clients and client teams as required.
  • Site-Based Projects: You will supervise site-based projects as required, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Team Leadership: You will supervise and delegate to subordinates and others as required, providing technical input into major and minor highway and infrastructure schemes.
  • Coordination and Liaison: You will coordinate and liaise with other offices, maintaining a good understanding of all relevant standards, codes of practice, health and safety legislation, and current design methods.
  • Compliance: You will comply with all company procedures and work instructions, executing site-based or head office functions as required.
  • Quality Control: You will check and approve your own and other staff work, including third-party design proposals, as identified in the project quality plan.
  • Additional Responsibilities: You will carry out other duties identified in the project management plan or as required by the project manager.
