Behaviour Support Mentor Opportunity

Academics is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join our team at a flourishing mainstream Primary School in Southend-on-sea, Essex.

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and patient individual to support the KS2 team in providing a positive impact on students and their learning. The successful candidate will have a passion for mental health and behaviour of young students, and will be able to work effectively with children who have SEN or SEMH.

Key Responsibilities

The Behaviour Support Mentor will be responsible for:

  • Providing individualised support to students with SEN or SEMH
  • Working closely with the KS2 team to develop and implement behaviour support plans
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to ensure a consistent approach to behaviour support
  • Providing training and support to staff on behaviour support strategies

What We Offer

Academics offers a long-term contract with the view of going permanent, as well as ample training and support given. The school's direct Teacher Training is also available from August.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for mental health and behaviour of young students
  • Experience working with children who have SEN or SEMH
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient and motivated approach
