We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our Inclusion Team at a special school in Southend. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to support students' specific needs.
  • Work closely with the Inclusion Team to assess and monitor students' progress, implementing strategies to encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Provide one-to-one and group support, working alongside classroom staff to address behavioural challenges.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Manage and oversee the afternoon Nurture Support Base, ensuring a calm and supportive environment for students.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to apply them effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to assess students' needs and develop tailored interventions.
  • Experience in de-escalating challenging behaviour and managing behaviour-related incidents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
