We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist provision in Southend. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH and associated complex needs between the ages of 11-16 years.

About the Role:
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEMH and complex needs
  • Develop and implement de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviours
  • Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to ensure a supportive and inclusive environment
  • Collaborate with the team to create and implement individualized support plans
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in special educational needs or social emotional, mental health
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Confidence in de-escalation strategies and robust approaches to managing challenging behaviours
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of students with SEMH and complex needs
