About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding team in Preston and contribute to the success of our clients within the defence sector.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Operate with NEC forms of contract, ensuring adherence to processes and procedures for issuing works in line with contracts.
  • Provide contract administration and contract advice, ensuring obligations under contract are met.
  • Challenge and manage scope of changes, highlighting any commercial impact.
  • Maintain awareness of key issues that can affect cost/time/quality.
  • Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Conduct value engineering assessments to ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Ensure that all financial obligations are settled, and payments are made.
About You
  • We are looking for candidates with relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably in the Nuclear/Civil engineering/Engineering sectors.
  • Experience or willingness to learn about mechanical and electrical industry in an infrastructure/defence environment is desired.
  • Comfortable communicating and negotiating with various levels of stakeholders.
  • Ideal candidates should be HNC/HND or Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying/Cost Management/Construction Law or similar/relevant discipline.
