Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Mentor to join our team at Wayman Group. As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and guide students in their behavioural development, promoting positive relationships and a supportive learning environment.
  • Assist students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to set and achieve personal and educational targets, fostering a culture of inclusivity and empowerment.
  • Engage and assist with various learning activities and programs, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging educational experience.
  • Implement strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours, promoting a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Be a positive role model, helping students build confidence and self-esteem, and develop essential life skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other learning mentors to create a comprehensive support network for each student, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Behaviour or Learning Mentor is preferred, with a strong understanding of SEN and challenging behaviour.
  • Experience in coaching, youth work, or a related field is highly desirable, with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
  • A empathetic, patient, and resilient nature, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
