About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our client secondary school in Portsmouth on a temporary basis. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' educational and personal development, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted support to students, both in and out of the classroom, to facilitate their learning and personal development.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons and preparing resources, adapting materials to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Support students with varying needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring they are fully included in all aspects of school life.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs) as necessary.
  • Encourage and motivate students, fostering a sense of independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and support the wider school community as required.

Requirements
  • Must have an enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
  • Must have completed safeguarding training.
