About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Approved Mental Health Professional to join our dedicated team. As an AMHP, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with urgent mental health issues, promoting their independence and wellbeing, and advocating for their rights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and support for individuals referred with urgent mental health issues
  • Promote the independence and rights of vulnerable individuals, addressing safeguarding issues and advocating for their needs
  • Work collaboratively with other partner agencies to achieve desired outcomes
  • Develop and implement effective support plans to meet individual needs
  • Contribute to the development of a strong and expert team through coaching and mentoring
Requirements
  • Experience as an Approved Mental Health Professional
  • Sound knowledge of the law and mental health legislation
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work on the AMHP rota and in other Council buildings as required
