Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) to join our Community Mental Health Team in Powys, Mid Wales.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ability to assess and manage the complex needs of individuals with mental health issues and their carers. As an AMHP, you will be responsible for ensuring the health, wellbeing, and social inclusion of our service users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage the complex needs of individuals with mental health issues and their carers.
  • Liaise with professionals to ensure seamless care pathways that safeguard and promote independence.
  • Promote joint working to support person-centred outcomes for individuals with mental health issues.
  • Undertake safeguarding investigations as required.
  • Assist the Local Authority in meeting their statutory obligations under the Mental Health Measure and the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014.
  • Deliver on the Local Authority's statutory requirements within the Mental Health Act 1983.
Requirements
  • Recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Registration with Social Care Wales (happy to consider applicants who need to make a submission to register).
  • Up-to-date AMHP portfolio (ideally).
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the update service.
  • Three years of referencing.
