About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Approved Mental Health Professional to join our dedicated team. As an AMHP, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with urgent mental health issues, promoting their independence and rights, and advocating for their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and provide support for individuals referred with mental health crises
  • Promote the independence and rights of vulnerable individuals, addressing safeguarding issues and empowering them to make choices
  • Work collaboratively with other partner agencies to achieve desired outcomes
  • Develop and implement effective care plans to meet individual needs
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues to enhance team performance

Requirements:

  • Experience as an Approved Mental Health Professional
  • Sound knowledge of mental health law and legislation
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work on the AMHP rota and in various Council buildings
