The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Planning Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial analysis and planning support to senior management.

  1. Prepare daily P&L commentary and substantiation based on market events.
  2. Review material new deals and calculate valuation adjustments & reserves with corresponding substantiation and commentary.
  3. Review changes to daily balance sheet & substantiation based on transactional activity.

Core Financial Oversight Functions:
You will be responsible for:

  1. Independent price verification analysis and reporting (daily, weekly, monthly).
  2. Weekly, Monthly & Quarterly revenue commentary.
  3. Maintaining valuation adjustment & reserve calculations in line with current policies.
  4. Balance sheet analysis (capital, liquidity, exposures etc.) including inventory aging, and reporting (Managerial and Regulatory).
  5. Determining and implementing appropriate accounting policies & procedures (with Accounting Policy).
  6. Managing key accounting, legal entity, regulatory and P&L issues with the business.
  7. Month end close, including Financial Disclosures and calculation / recording of netting entries.
  8. Exercise of control oversight on behalf of the business.
  9. Participation in the New Product Review and Appropriation Request processes: modelling structures, process scenarios, review, and control.
  10. Contributing to Governance process, operational error reporting and support of other internal control process, including SOX.

Planning & Reporting:
In this role, you will develop and analyze key performance metrics and participate in the formulation of business strategy.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A 2:1 degree from a UK University (or equivalent).
  2. Qualified/part qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent).
  3. Experience within a similar role, ideally from financial services / banking.
  4. Good working knowledge of accounting concepts.
  5. Knowledge of Derivative Exotic products / product control would be beneficial.
  6. Confident Excel skills.

Estimated Salary:
£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
