Senior Land Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Land Planning Specialist to join our team in the Midlands region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing planning activities across various aspects of land purchase, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of planning consents.

About the Role:
  • As a key member of our planning management team, you will participate in the company's overall strategy, aiming to achieve targets and maintain best practices.
  • You will undertake thorough planning appraisals of potential development sites, identifying risks and making recommendations on planning permission prospects and timelines.
  • Your expertise will be crucial in preparing and managing applications and planning appeals for residential and mixed-use developments, encompassing both brownfield and greenfield sites nationwide.
  • You will effectively engage in negotiations with local authorities, community groups, and other stakeholders at both pre-application and post-submission stages.
  • You will closely monitor changes in planning policy, legislation, and regulation, providing strategic advice on their impact on the company's planning strategies and investment decisions.
  • You will ensure the planning team adheres to Company policies and procedures while developing a deep understanding of development opportunities and competitor activity.
Requirements:
  • At least 3-4 years' experience in land acquisition, preferably in commercial or residential sectors.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels.
  • Proven self-management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Able to build strong relationships, network, and promote business growth.
  • Frequent travel to meetings may be required, sometimes in remote or rural locations.
