The Job
We are seeking a Direct Payment Worker to assist a 9-year-old girl with myoclonic muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair. She requires personal care needs.
She enjoys activities such as baking, swimming, crafting and watching television. She also enjoys music and dancing, but can find these activities too noisy at times and requires ear defenders. She communicates her needs through sign language and gestures, and is starting to use a talker.
The ideal candidate will be caring and patient, with experience of supporting young people with a disability.
About the Role
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the life of a young person with a disability. As a Direct Payment Worker, you will be responsible for providing personal care and support to enable her to live independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to the young person, including assistance with daily living tasks.
- Support the young person to participate in activities and hobbies that she enjoys.
- Communicate effectively with the young person, using sign language and gestures as needed.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the young person receives the best possible support.
