About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Multi-disciplinary Team at St Margaret's Somerset Hospice. As a key member of our team, you will provide person-centered support, care, and treatment to patients, their families, and carers across the community who have palliative and end-of-life care needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage non-complex symptoms, including pain, shortness of breath, mobility, pressure risk, continence, and psychological factors.
  • Analyse information and carry out non-complex interventions within your scope of practice or refer to specialists as needed.
  • Support the work of qualified practitioners, including Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
  • Travel across Somerset, including rural communities, and work unsocial hours, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
