About the Role:

SMART Education Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Specialist SEN English Educator to work in Birmingham, delivering GCSE/Functional Skills English to students with additional needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or young people with special educational needs and a commitment to engaging and inclusive teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality lessons to students with SEN
  • Creating Schemes of Work (SOW) and lesson plans, supported by a catalogue of resources
  • Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants (TAs) to ensure effective learning outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and development

Requirements:

  1. QTS Qualified
  2. Minimum of four years' experience in a school or college setting
  3. Proficiency in creating SOWs and lesson plans
  4. Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  5. Commitment to engaging and inclusive teaching methods
