Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MET Technician to join our team at Steer Automotive Group. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for repairing vehicles to the highest standards, working in a fast-paced environment, and using your technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure exceptional results.

About the Role

As an MET Technician with Steer, you will be responsible for carrying out all necessary mechanical and body work on allocated jobs, dismantling vehicles ready for the panel shop, and carrying out inspections, fault-finding, and diagnostic work. You will work closely with the Parts Team to provide details for ordering replacement parts and be responsible for re-assembling the vehicle with new parts as required to pre-accident condition and to vehicle and BSI PAS 10125 standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out all necessary mechanical and bodywork on allocated jobs.
  • Performing repairs and maintenance tasks on vehicles, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Dismantling vehicles ready for the panel shop and reassembling to pre-accident condition.
  • Using diagnostic equipment and tools to accurately diagnose and repair problems.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
  • Keeping accurate records of work performed and parts used.
  • Supporting the training and development of the team.

About You

You will have strong knowledge and experience as an MET Technician or mechanic from an accident repair background, with high attention to detail and the ability to work skilfully and safely under pressure. You must be able to plan your workload effectively, carry out work in accordance with manufacturers' specifications, work as part of a team, and be flexible in your approach.
