Chorley, Lancashire, United Kingdom Teaching Personnel Full time

Are you looking to make a positive impact on the lives of children in a mainstream Primary School environment?

The SENCO of a reputable Primary School in Chorley is seeking a Teaching Assistant qualified up to graduate level to support small groups of pupils across the school who require additional SEMH support. National Lockdowns have had a significant impact on children's mental health and their learning. Senior Leaders in school are committed to ensuring each child receives the right level of support and have therefore created a new role in school to support and improve the mental health and wellbeing of individual children.

Senior Leaders are keen to secure a Psychology Graduate as they feel a candidate with expertise in this field would be a great addition to their pastoral and inclusion team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner who has experience of supporting children or vulnerable adults with their mental health. This is an excellent opportunity to support children across the school and bring new fresh ideas as to how we can support children with their mental health. The Headteacher has an 'open door policy' for staff to come forward with new ideas and she is committed to whole school improvement.

This role will involve working with children and families to provide support and guidance. The ability to build excellent relationships with children and families is essential for this role. The successful applicant must be open-minded and committed to inclusion and demonstrate a good understanding of each individual child's needs. Rates of pay are competitive for work of this nature and vary from £350-£450 per week.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ's on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
