Job Opportunity: Azure Automation Engineer

Head Resourcing is pleased to be working with a leading retail bank in the UK who are seeking an experienced Azure Automation Engineer to join their team within the Infrastructure Engineering department. This role is based in a hybrid environment, with opportunities to work from home and in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Virtualization Solutions: Develop and deploy virtualization solutions that meet business needs and provide significant benefits.
  • Mentorship and Team Development: Support and develop the skills of junior team members, enhancing the team's overall capabilities.
  • Drive Innovation and Strategic Influence: Promote new technology approaches underpinned by modern principles and drive innovation by challenging traditional approaches within our technology space.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Collaborate with vendors to ensure their products align with our strategic objectives.

Technical Requirements:

Infrastructure and Virtual Desktop:

  • Proven experience in AVD engineering within a commercial environment, with certifications up to AZ104 and AZ140.
  • Expertise in AVD architecture, deployment options, management tools, and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure & Configuration as Code using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
  • Experience in building and deploying secure AVD environments through CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of image development and management using Packer or Azure Image Builder.
  • Skills in using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of Infrastructure as Code based AVD environments.

Automation and Programming:

  • Proficiency with automation tools such as Logic Apps, Functions, Azure Automation, and Event Grid.
  • Knowledge of scripting and programming languages like PowerShell, KQL, and YAML for automating AVD-related tasks.
