Job Title: Senior Adult Intensive Care Medicine Fellow

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Intensive Care Medicine specialist to join our team as a Senior Adult Intensive Care Medicine Fellow. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the UK's largest and most experienced centres for adult ECMO and the only NHS Trust providing ECMO support to patients of all ages.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work as an integral member of the adult intensive care team at Glenfield Hospital, providing advanced respiratory care including ECMO and transport of the critically ill adult. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to further develop key critical care medicine skills and work in a leading cardio-thoracic intensive care unit.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Day-to-day care of adult intensive care patients
  2. Transport of patients
  3. Training in ECMO
  4. Audit, research, and teaching
  5. Assessment
  6. On-call duties
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  1. Full GMC registration
  2. Completion of stage 1 and part of stage 2 ICM training or overseas equivalent
  3. 36 months ICU experience
  4. Final FFICM examination Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) examination or equivalent
  5. Primary FRCA or full MRCP, MRCEM examination or equivalent
  6. ALS
Desirable Qualifications

The following qualifications are desirable but not essential:

  1. Completion of stage 2 and/or 3 ICM training or international equivalent
  2. FFICM
  3. Prior experience in transfer of the critically ill, completion of a transfer training course
  4. Prior experience in cardiothoracic intensive care and/or caring for ECMO/SARF patients
  5. Full FRCA examination or equivalent
