Join us at EDDC as we seek a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to lead our team in delivering exceptional results.
About the Role:
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong track record of success in operations management, strategic planning, and partnership development. As Director of Operations, you will be responsible for leading our team in delivering our strategic priorities, managing our operating budget, and developing and implementing our business plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement our business plan, ensuring alignment with our strategic priorities and operating budget.
- Lead our team in delivering our strategic priorities, ensuring effective partnership working and collaboration with stakeholders.
- Manage our operating budget, ensuring effective financial management and value for money.
- Develop and maintain effective partnership relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities, businesses, and community groups.
- Provide advice and guidance to our Chief Executive and Board on new investment opportunities and work with our Team Devon Joint Committee and Advisory Groups to develop a pipeline of programmes and projects to secure additional investment for the area.
Requirements:
- Professional qualification and/or significant relevant experience.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
- Extensive experience of working at a senior level within the public sector.
- Demonstrable knowledge of good operational performance and compliance.
- Experience of managing and maintaining effective partnership relationships.
- Ability to evaluate systems and processes, identifying and capitalising upon opportunities for continuous improvement.
- An inspirational leader with the ability to effectively motivate a staff group to achieve results.
- Excellent understanding of business planning, commercial risk management, and financial management.
- Experience of working within a service management environment.
- Experience of operating/advising at a leadership level.
- Experience of working in the public sector and within a political environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
