We are seeking an exceptional Band 6 Continence Specialist Nurse to join our integrated community team covering the Peterborough area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing complex patients in their home or in a nurse-led clinic setting, participating in teaching and mentoring of other professionals, engaging in clinical trials and research, and having an in-depth knowledge of continence formularies.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized specialist patient care programs based on evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning skills.
- Provide supervision to healthcare professionals in relation to all aspects of managing incontinence.
- Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of your own work, including management of patients in your care.
- Ensure effective communication with the wider community and healthcare professionals to persuade change, influence, and improve practice.
- Empathize, reassure, and negotiate with patients to encourage compliance with treatment/management strategies.
- Provide advice to palliative care services in the management of incontinence as appropriate.
- Participate in research and clinical trials in accordance with Clinical Governance and Trust policy.

Person Specification:- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Willingness to undertake BSc Nursing and Continence Modules.
- Level of experience of tissue viability/Continence within the present job.
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience of participating in audits and developing clinical guidelines.
- Excellent verbal skills with awareness of the need for confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to use tact, diplomacy, and persuasion in implementing change.
- Skilled in teaching trained and untrained staff, carers, and patients.
- Effectively prioritizes and coordinates own work.
- Can demonstrate leadership skills and initiative.
- Ability to deal with those with life-limiting conditions.
