About the Role

The Prax Group is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team in Aberdeen. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's environmental objectives are met during its exploration, appraisal, development, operations, and decommissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with environmental relevant statutory provisions throughout the full life-cycle of our onshore and offshore operations.
  • Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading: Re-verify ownership for the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading scheme.
  • Permit Applications: Prepare and submit permit applications, including PETS Applications, SAT Application Types, and Permit preparation.
  • Environmental Database Management: Administer the EEMS database, set OSPAR EEMS requirements, and prepare OPEPS, Environmental Impact Assessments, and Environmental Statements.
  • Environmental Targets and Objectives: Propose and monitor against annual environmental targets and objectives, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual environmental returns.
  • Permit Management: Manage approved permits and consents, including PON 1, PON 2 reporting, OCR Non-compliance Notifications, and OPPC Non-compliance Notifications.
  • Environmental Training and Audits: Record environmental training, exercises, and drills, and submit annual returns to BEIS.
  • Waste Management: Oversee waste management and conduct audits.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Liaise with other West of Shetland Operators to exchange environmental information and lessons learned.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, including BEIS, JNCC, SFF, and NGO's.
  • Contract Management: Manage contracts with OSRL and Shetland Oils Spill Response.
  • Representative Role: Represent the company at UK O&G Enviro Forums.
  • Environmental Surveys and Consultations: Lead environmental survey responses and consultations.
  • Audits and Monitoring: Conduct offshore audits and monitoring, and participate in onshore environmental office monitoring.
  • Environmental Commitment List: Manage the ES commitment list.
  • Interface Management: Manage interfaces with BES, TFMC, and PFML regarding environmental matters.
  • Chemical Selection and Registration: Involve in chemical selection and testing, and registration as necessary.
  • Gas Management: Participate in gas management monitoring and strategy development.
  • EMS Ownership: Own the EMS as part of the BMS, and coordinate EMS audits.
  • Offshore Environmental Compliance: Ensure offshore environmental compliance.
  • Legislative Updates: Monitor changes to environmental legislation and advise personnel.
  • Emergency Response Management: Support and participate in emergency response management.
  • HSSE&Q Compliance: Ensure compliance with HSSE&Q corporate policies and applicable legislation.
  • Environmental Policy and Plans: Establish, review, and revise environmental policy and plans as necessary.
  • Proactive Environmental Leadership: Demonstrate proactive environmental leadership.
  • Compliance with Company Protocols: Comply with all company HSSE&Q protocols, processes, and procedures.
  • Support to ERSC Response Facilities: Support Aberdeen-based ERSC response facilities as required.
Requirements
  • Technical Degree: Hold a technical degree or equivalent with relevant application to the oil and gas industry.
  • Chartered Membership: Be a Chartered Member of a professional environmental body.
  • ISO 14001 Lead Auditor: Hold an ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.

  • UKCS Field Development: Experience of UKCS field development, specifically knowledge of associated reporting and operational requirements.

  • Environmental Indicators and Techniques: Knowledge of current environmental indicators and techniques for enhancing EH&S performance, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Industry Experience: At least 10 years' industry experience.
  • Highly Motivated: Highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
