Role Overview:

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions, playing a key role in the financial management of the company. The successful candidate will be hands-on initially, utilising their expertise to streamline processes and contribute to the overall financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance function, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all operations
  • Oversee budgets and payment approvals
  • Identify and evaluate investment opportunities to support growth
  • Ensure compliance with VAT & tax returns including international
  • Maintain and develop financial procedures, ensuring all records are up to date and accurately filed
  • Act as the focal point for all audits and ensure the business remains compliant with financial regulations
  • Manage, support, and provide cover for accounting functions
  • Ensure financial management systems, IT, software and controls are fit for purpose and up-to-date
  • Drive international expansion by analysing and costing alternate routes to market
  • Ensure compliance with international tax and duty requirements
  • Identify and analyse potential acquisition opportunities
  • Work closely with the Managing Director to provide input into overall company strategy

Person Specification:

  • Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Previous experience working in a similar-sized business, ideally with international exposure.
  • Flexibility, strong organisational skills, and a high attention to detail.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative.
