Strategic Communications Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned internal communications professional to drive strategic communications for our global HR initiatives on a contract basis. This pivotal role will cover maternity leave for 10 months and be instrumental in the following areas:

  • Career and Development: Execute communications for global learning initiatives, including the TQ program, leadership development through the People Leadership Credential, Workday, and essential HR processes such as skills and staffing.
  • Global Recognition Program: Develop and implement communications for the transition to the new recognition platform.
  • Employee Listening Activities: Provide ongoing support for initiatives like Great Place to Work, Q12, and Your Voice Matters.
  • Performance Achievement and Rewards: Assist with communications that drive awareness and engagement with our performance, rewards, and promotion periods.
  • HR Corporate Function Communications: Support execution of HR-to-HR communications, particularly with the recent CLHRO transition, which has driven increased need for support.

Requirements and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in internal communications or a similar role within a medium- to large corporate or government environment; professional services background is a plus.
  • Excellent written, editorial, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project/campaign management and organizational skills.
  • Data analysis and reporting experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across the organization.
  • Proficiency in communication tools and platforms, including Microsoft Office, MS Teams, and MS Viva Engage.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Good working knowledge of collaboration tools, including MS Teams and Viva Engage.
  • Some working knowledge and practical use of CMS tools, particularly SharePoint and WordPress.
  • Some working knowledge or willingness to learn Power BI.
