We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated individual to join our Housing Need Allocations Team. The successful candidate will be part of a small, busy team of 3 officers responsible for allocating all vacant properties belonging to West Lothian Council and a percentage of vacant properties belonging to registered social landlords.

The post holder will be responsible for the implementation of all housing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with current legislation, regulation, and good practice. They will also be responsible for delivering a high-quality customer-focused housing service, which delivers the council's commitments in achieving sustainable communities.

Key Responsibilities

•⁠ ⁠Allocate vacant properties to eligible applicants, ensuring compliance with housing policies and procedures.

•⁠ ⁠Implement and maintain accurate records of allocations, including tracking and monitoring of casework.

•⁠ ⁠Provide excellent customer service to applicants, responding to queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with colleagues and partners to achieve performance targets and improve working practices.

Requirements

We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated individual with a deep understanding and first-hand experience of delivering housing allocations policy and working processes. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in an environment where they can use their own initiative, plan and organize their workload, achieve performance targets, and provide excellent customer service to our customers and partners.

We seek applicants who have excellent communication skills and can help sustain our strong partnership working with key partners, delivering information targeted to the audience.

This is a permanent post and will play a key role within our Allocations Team, who work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment and deliver excellent performance and a customer-focused service to applicants for housing.

The successful candidate will have access to West Lothian Council's Pool Car Scheme in order to undertake approved business travel.
