About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Officer to join our team at Oxfordshire County Council. As an Information Officer, you will play a vital role in providing free information, advice, and assistance to families and professionals in Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information on childcare, early years provision, and other services of benefit to parents, prospective parents, children, or young persons in Oxfordshire.
  • Refer families or providers on to other professionals as appropriate to access other sources of help and support.
  • Maintain and update accurate, high-quality information on childcare, early years provision, and other services.
  • Deliver information and advice via telephone, email, and face-to-face.
  • Represent the Family Information Service in the local community and promote the service at events and meetings.
Requirements
  • Experience handling information and updating databases/IT systems.
  • Knowledge of early years and childcare provision and of a wider range of services for children, young people, and families.
  • Highly effective communication skills with experience of delivering information and advice via telephone, email, and face-to-face.
  • Ability to travel throughout the county and hold a full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
