Product Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team in Derry/Londonderry. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining product specifications that meet customer requirements and company manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Act as a safety leader and prioritize safety in all responsibilities.
- Ensure awareness and adherence to corporate and site Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Review new product requests from customers and determine the most efficient route to manufacture using knowledge of machine capabilities.
- Review and interpret customer-supplied specifications for company products, comparing customer requirements to company manufacturing capabilities and developing product specifications.
- Translate customer-supplied information into customer-facing specification format using AutoCAD and communicate directly with the customer for approval.
- Maintain customer-facing specifications, customer-supplied specifications, and supporting documentation in organized and user-friendly customer master files.
- Generate clear and accurate internal product specifications in SAP based on approved customer-facing specifications and/or customer-supplied specifications.
- Provide SAP data specialists with consistently accurate product information for generating SAP master data, Bills of Materials, and routings.
- Design, order, and issue job-specific tooling for use in accordance with associated manufacturing specifications.
- Control design advancement in compliance with the Company's Quality Management System.
- Control internal and external change requests by Customer Service, Sales, Customers, Manufacturing, Technical, QA, and sub-contractors.
- Work closely on new business development projects in line with company sales plans.
- Use analytical skills to resolve Product Engineering-related Manufacturing issues promptly.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
- Apply sound engineering practice for design improvement and issue resolution.
- Participate in customer audits and continuous improvement projects as required.
- Degree or Equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Auto-CAD experience.
- Strong background/knowledge of Microsoft computer software.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant design/development experience.
- Detailed knowledge of SAP.
Working hours are 38 per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00, and Friday 08:00-12:00.
