English Language Education Position

We are seeking a dedicated English language educator to teach English to learners of all ages and backgrounds at a leading further education institution in Durham. This part-time/full-time role involves designing and delivering high-quality lessons and assessments to students.

Salary: £23-£37 per hour including holiday pay

Job Description:

  • Plan and deliver lessons that cater to the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Develop and maintain a positive learning environment that promotes academic achievement
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills

Required Qualifications:

  • A teaching qualification, such as AET, PTLLS, PGCE or a certificate in education
  • A level 3 qualification or equivalent in the subject area
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior
  • Experience working with 16-19 year olds in an educational or apprentice setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
