Trainee Recovery Worker
We are Ad Warrior Ltd, a forward-thinking organization empowering individuals to break cycles of addiction and homelessness. Our 25-year history has seen us work with people to build positive lives, regardless of their past.
We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds, including those in recovery from addiction, co-dependency, gambling, previous offending, or homelessness. Please note that we suggest a period of two years in recovery for this traineeship (if relevant).
Job Overview
In this role, you will shadow a team member, receiving guidance and support while working through various aspects of the position. Regular reviews will ensure you stay on track to successfully complete the traineeship, which includes compulsory therapy. Your time will be spent gaining practical experience and studying towards achieving the assigned qualification (subject to criteria).
Key Responsibilities:
- Support with organizing events and Forward reunions.
- Collaborate with the communications team to research and write copy, news stories, and case studies for internal and external audiences.
- Promote the Forward Connect network and its interventions to service users, staff, and local agencies.
- Assist with designing and editing our client magazine, The Journey.
- Support social media channel development, website, and intranet.
- Conduct research to support new projects and activities within Forward Connect.
- Foster links with residential rehabs and supported housing providers.
- Facilitate Forward Connect meetings as required.
- Develop data collection and recording skills for audit, research, and reporting purposes.
- Maintain accurate database information according to Data Protection Principles and Law.
- Take on other tasks and responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the Line Manager.
Requirements
- An understanding of vulnerable adults' needs in recovery with experience of previous offending or homelessness.
- Commitment to equal opportunity principles and client confidentiality.
- Able to manage workload effectively to deadlines and targets.
- An understanding of clients' needs who are in or working towards recovery.
- An ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.
- Grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths, or able to meet qualification requirements in English and Maths.
