Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Performance System Engineer to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our HVDC Control & Protection-Studies team, you will be responsible for designing and delivering full HVDC control and protection solutions for wind farm grid connections and interconnectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dynamic Performance Studies: Conduct dynamic performance studies within tender and project execution of HVDC projects, including black-start and network restoration, grid forming controls, and multi-terminal systems, according to customer and national grid code requirements.
- Customer Training and Support: Provide customer training for simulation models and present study results to customers.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve and standardize simulation models, study procedures, and methods, processes in project execution, as well as document results.
- Technical Support: Support project management in technical discussions, participate in customer meetings, and coordinate external partners.
Requirements:
- Education: University degree in electrical power engineering or control engineering, combined with a PhD degree and experience in the power engineering industry.
- Technical Expertise: Good knowledge in high voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics, and HVDC technology. Expertise in control engineering and modeling of HVDC systems in the time domain and frequency domain.
- Language Skills: Fluent English (spoken and written), German preferable.
