About the Role

As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health conditions to regain control over their lives and achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a supportive and respectful relationship with service users, sharing your own experiences to raise aspirations and promote recovery.
  • Work in direct contact with service users on a 1:1 and in group settings, providing formalized peer support and practical assistance.
  • Maintain professional boundaries within the context of the working relationship.
  • Help individuals identify their own achievable and meaningful recovery goals through the use of Patient Reported Outcome Measures.
  • Support the coproduction and co-facilitation of groups to enable service users' recovery journeys.
Requirements
  • English language literacy and numeracy skills to the standard necessary to provide clear, concise records on computerized systems.
  • Completion of NVQ level 3 health and social care qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Personal lived experience of a mental health condition.
  • Experience of recovering a meaningful life.
