About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Economist to work on complex strategic research projects, collaborating with scientists at Amazon to deliver measurable progress and change. You will design, set up, and analyze experiments to measure the impact of strategic Prime Video initiatives, leveraging causal inference methods to estimate the impact of large-scale investments ex post.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement econometric models to inform business decisions
  • Analyze data to identify trends and patterns, providing insights to business leaders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic plans
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in Economics or a highly quantitative discipline
  • Experience with programmatic scripting languages for data analysis (e.g. Python, R) and extraction (SQL)
  • Proficiency in applying empirical techniques in reduced-form causal analysis
  • Thorough understanding of design-based causal inference
Preferred Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of specific microeconometric empirical techniques (e.g. difference-in-difference models, matching and doubly robust methods)
  • Post doctoral experience in academia, private sector, consulting or government
  • Ability to identify and successfully pitch the value of new ideas to business leaders
