Job Title: Project Manager Obesity and Weight Stigma

Job Summary:

This Project Manager post is responsible for coordinating project work streams to promote awareness, knowledge, and skills related to obesity, weight bias, and stigma throughout Lothian. The post holder will work with various stakeholders in children and adult services, including primary and secondary care, education, youth work, social work, and the third sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and deliver innovative training programmes to tackle weight stigma and bias.
  2. Provide specialist coordination of project work streams to support awareness, knowledge, and skills related to obesity, weight bias, and stigma.
  3. Work with stakeholders to develop and implement projects, ensuring robust evaluation and monitoring.
  4. Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including children and adult services, to promote awareness and knowledge of obesity, weight bias, and stigma.
Requirements:

This post requires the post holder to have a strong understanding of the complexity of obesity and health inequalities. A Public Health or community education degree or relevant experience is highly desirable.

This is a temporary post for 12 months on a part-time basis. The salary will be pro-rata.

Please note that this post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
