The Midlothian Council is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Operations Coordinator to support the Executive Director and Chief Officer(s) in delivering the Council's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating the operational work of the Business Partners and/or coordinating resources to ensure a One Council approach to prioritization, coordination, and delivery of strategic objectives.
  • Coordinating the planning, resourcing, workforce planning, and operation of designated Services; monitoring the delivery of Directorate priorities, oversight of Directorate performance data, and delivery plans.
  • Leading designated initiatives and thematic projects, identifying transformation opportunities, ensuring value for money, and/or improving resource efficiency, customer experience, or service delivery.

Requirements:

  • A post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject area and senior membership of an appropriate professional body are desirable.
  • Experience of service planning, staff, and resource management in a multi-disciplinary organization demonstrating creative and innovative service development and problem-solving is essential.
  • Project management experience demonstrating good interpersonal skills, together with a clear understanding of the regulatory framework within which public services operate is also essential.
