Adult Consultant Psychiatrist in Early Intervention in Psychosis

About the Role:

As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Early Intervention in Psychosis, you will join our multidisciplinary team providing care to people with first onset psychosis and those potentially at high risk of developing psychotic disorders, across Havering. This is an established, substantive, part-time role – 5 PAs, working closely with other health and social professionals and agencies to provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases. You will also be responsible for providing guidance and supervision to the team and supporting your peers and team manager while working on your own initiative and supervising junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to people with first onset psychosis and those potentially at high risk of developing psychotic disorders, across Havering
  • Provide senior medical support to the team, and direct input on clinical cases
  • Provide guidance and supervision to the team
  • Support their peers and team manager and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative and supervise junior colleagues
  • Participate in the on-call rota frequency is currently 1:50, with a 3% of basic salary, Category A on-call supplement (pro-rata)

Requirements:

You will also need to be a team player and be able to work directly with young adult people (and their families), and liaise as appropriate with other external mental health providers, and acute hospitals.
