Job Description

Role Overview

North East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Havering Mental Wellness Team South (MHWT-S). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide senior medical support and direct input on clinical cases, working closely with adults and their families to deliver exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to adult individuals with mental health needs across southern Havering.
  2. Provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases.
  3. Offer guidance and supervision to the team, ensuring high-quality patient care.
  4. Collaborate with adults and their families, as well as external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals, as needed.
  5. Participate in the on-call rota, with a Category A on-call supplement (pro-rata).
  6. Support your peers and team leader, promoting a positive and effective team environment.
  7. Work alongside 1wte consultants, 1wte Specialty Doctor, and 1wte trainee doctor within the service.
  8. Cultivate collaborative relationships with other health and social professionals, and agencies, to deliver comprehensive care.

Person Specification

  • GMC Registration: Essential - Full GMC registration with a licence to practice.
  • Qualifications: Essential - CCT or equivalent.
  • Section 12: Essential - Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
  • Knowledge: Essential - Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it.
  • Experience: Essential - Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST.
