Support Worker Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Shaftesbury House Residential Care Home. This exciting opportunity enables you to make a real difference in the lives of our residents, supporting them to live independently and fulfill their potential.

Job Description

- Provide person-centered support to residents, facilitating their independence and empowering them to make informed decisions about their care and lifestyle
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, their families, and colleagues, fostering a culture of openness and trust
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement resident-centered care plans
- Participate in training and development activities, staying up-to-date with best practices and advancements in care provision

Responsibilities

- Support residents with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
- Assist residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Facilitate leisure and social activities, promoting engagement and participation among residents
- Contribute to a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment, adhering to health and safety standards

Requirements

- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with older adults and individuals with varying needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of our residents

Salary

£11.90 per hour, with opportunities for overtime and additional compensation

Working Hours

22 hours available, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances
