Job Description:
The Warehouse Team Leader will be responsible for managing goods inwards area and loading bays, developing and training team members, carrying out disciplinary interviews, supporting the Shift Manager, overseeing cross docking processes, and maintaining a clean and tidy workplace.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and motivate the shift team to ensure productivity and service KPIs are achieved or exceeded
- Manage Goods Inwards area and Loading bays to ensure receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods
- Develop and train all team members to maximise their contributions to the warehouse
- Carry out disciplinary/grievance interviews and investigations
- Support the Shift Manager in ad hoc duties within the Warehouse function
- Oversee the cross docking process
- Maintain a clean and tidy workplace at all times
- Carry out daily shift briefs to the team and keep them updated with relevant information
- Ensure all areas of the warehouse comply with the company's Health, Safety, and Welfare policies
- Monitor and control the work environment to ensure optimum efficiency
- Ensure shifts' performance is in line with workload and Key Performance Indicators
- Utilise available resources to their full potential at all times
Qualifications:
- Previous operational experience within a warehouse environment
- Experience in managing a large team
- Good working knowledge within a Warehouse and Logistics operation within a FMCG environment (desirable)
- Good health and safety knowledge
- Attention to detail/accuracy
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
- Able to work as part of a team and individually
- Conscientious and reliable
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Effectively prioritise workload to meet set deadlines
- Proactive and able to make decisions
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary (£38,000 - £42,000 per annum), plus holiday entitlement, life assurance, pension scheme, retail discounts, health cash plans: Hospital, dental, and optical, and many more benefits.
