Clinical or Counselling Psychologist Role Overview

Appoint Healthcare, in partnership with a leading national provider of health and social care services for young people and adults with neurological, mental health, and learning disabilities, is recruiting a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist for our 37-bed specialist hospital in Stafford.

This dedicated facility provides intensive inpatient treatment for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, recovery-focused care by collaborating closely with young people, their families, and professionals.

We adhere to the highest standards of care as part of the Mental Health Network and a key partner in the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative, led by Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust. Our clinically-led, person-centered model of care incorporates evidence-based practices tailored to individual needs.

The hospital includes an Ofsted-registered school, ensuring continuity of education. The facility comprises three specialised units:

  1. Eating Disorders Service
  2. Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit
  3. General Adolescent Service

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure safety, protect human rights, and assess patients' behaviours and treatment needs.
  2. Guide and support colleagues in implementing clinical psychology interventions.
  3. Uphold security protocols, continuously assess and manage risks.
  4. Maintain CPD as an HCPC-Registered Clinical Psychologist, ensuring competency in psychological and risk assessments.

Requirements:

  1. HCPC registration
  2. BPS membership
  3. Previous experience within a CAMHS setting

A competitive salary package up to £56,267 per annum, including benefits such as 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and comprehensive support from our clinical leadership team, is offered.
