Chelmsley Wood, United Kingdom Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

CAMHS practitioner is often an umbrella term used to describe a registered professional working in CAMHS. This might include a social worker, registered therapist, Nurse, Occupational Therapist or another allied health professional.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an CAMHS Practitioner within a team that specialises in improving outcomes for Looked After Children within Solar. Solar provides specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services for young people 0-19 year olds.

We are a service that has embraced the transformational change as part of the CYP IAPT programme and have worked collaboratively with our local training providers to embed the model across the service. Solar offers a stepped approach to care and our team consists of a wide range of professional groupings. The team usually works between Monday and Friday and is based across two clinics within the Solihull borough, with an emphasis on community working to help promote positive engagement with our young people and families.

We offer generous supervision arrangements including both peer/individual and support from a vast and varied multi-disciplinary team, we work closely together offering high levels of experience and expertise, within a friendly and professional atmosphere. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated addition to the team who can help us on our journey to offering outstanding care for young people and families within the Solihull Borough.

Welcome to Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. Our 4000 clinical and support staff help us to improve mental health wellbeing and meet the needs of the 70,000 people we serve each year. We provide a range of mental healthcare services across Birmingham and Solihull, as well as specialised services nationally. We also offer medical, nursing and psychology training and are proud of our international reputation for both research and innovation.

Our population is culturally diverse, characterised in places by high levels of deprivation which create an increasing demand for our services and a necessity for us to make sure everyone can access the help they need. We are a team of compassionate, inclusive and committed people working together to provide excellent care to support our community. If you are looking for a place to belong, where you can make a real difference to people’s lives, join our team where our warm welcome is waiting for you.

For further information about the main responsibilities please view the attached job description and person specification.
