Job Description
This exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Band 4 Senior Booking Clerk for the Rapid Access eye clinic at Maidstone Hospital. As an Eye Clinic Booking Coordinator, you will be part of a team that provides Ophthalmology services. The role is pivotal in helping to manage the Ophthalmology CAU team at Maidstone Hospital, including sight-saving outpatient clinics and waiting list management.
Main Duties
- You will support the CAU Lead in liaising with other departments, patients, and relatives, as well as clinical colleagues to ensure that patient admissions are appropriately planned and managed.
- You should be resilient, motivated, organized, and able to work well under pressure with exceptional communication skills.
- You will work closely with the CAU Team leader and Service manager to ensure the trust access policy is adhered to and that all admin-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met with remedial actions put in place when necessary.
- Previous experience of CAUs and how to book patients on to treatment lists is ideal.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- You will need good education to GCSE level.
- A NVQ 2 in customer services or administration or equivalent is desirable.
- You must have administration or reception experience, word processing skills, good IT skills, and awareness of National Patient Access targets.
- Experience in supervising staff is also essential.
