About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Imaging Support Assistant to join our Diagnostic & Imaging team at One Hatfield Hospital. As an Imaging Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting radiographers and consultant radiologists with radiological procedures, ensuring the smooth operation of the Radiology department.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist patients throughout their time in the Imaging department, preparing them for imaging procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Assist radiographers in maintaining an efficient daily work list, workflow of patients, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Support radiologists in carrying out radiological examinations, preparing the examination room, and ensuring linen is clean and the room is tidy and fit for purpose.
- Work closely with the appointments team to optimize session usage and ensure effective communication with all disciplines of Radiology staff.
- Provide excellent patient care, maintaining a caring and supportive environment, and promoting a culture of patient-centered care.
- Assist with keeping the department clean and tidy, adhering to infection prevention and control policies, and maintaining stock levels.
- Chaperone when required and maintain contemporaneous patient records, ensuring accuracy and countersigning by a trained nurse.
Requirements
- Minimum G.C.S.E. education or equivalent.
- Ability to learn and develop, with some healthcare experience in a hospital environment.
- Caring, patient, and customer-focused, with basic computer skills and comprehensive written and verbal communication skills.
- Desirable: experience in the private sector, previous experience of working in a healthcare environment or within the service industry, and enthusiasm for cross-functional working within different departments.
