Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant with SEND experience to work in a Special Needs school in Portsmouth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide essential support to students with moderate to complex learning and physical needs, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored learning plans, ensuring students with SEND receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social interaction and academic growth among students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness to inform instruction.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs, using creative strategies to engage students with SEND.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • A caring and patient approach to supporting students with varying needs, providing a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, collaborating effectively with teachers and other support staff to ensure student success.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities to meet the needs of students with SEND.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to apply for one), ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
