Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs and challenging behaviors in a KS3 and KS4 setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in creating a nurturing environment that enables students to engage successfully in all aspects of learning.
- Assist with outdoor day trips and activity days, promoting social skills and independence.
- Embody the school's vision and core values, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
- Work closely with students with ASC, complex needs, and challenging behaviors, providing individualized support and guidance.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure students stay on track with the curriculum, providing additional support as needed.
Requirements:
- Patience, proactivity, and resilience are essential in this role, as you will be working with students who require additional support.
- Experience working in a SEN school is desirable but not essential.
- Strong ability to develop relationships and rapport with students, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and support staff.
