Exciting Opportunity for a Seasoned Mechanical Design Engineer

Blueprint Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client, a leading defence company, on a long-term contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a predominately remote basis, attending the Plymouth site two days per month.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation, and maintenance of Steam & Condensate, Industrial Gases, Fresh Water, Demineralised Water, HVAC, and Domestic Water services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality mechanical design deliverables across all design stages
  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations
  • Design and deliver mechanical systems for water and water treatment plants
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and all other relevant H&S legislation
  • Contribute to all aspects of mechanical design from site surveys, feasibility studies, detailed design, and tender pricing
  • Monitor design delivery performance and efficiency
  • Facilitate regular meetings with project delivery teams
  • Liaise with Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil & Structural Designers
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in Building Services
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, preferably in Nuclear applications
  • Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable
  • Security clearance or ability to obtain
  • Strong team leadership and decision-making skills with proven experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS packages
  • Strong communication skills
  • Full driving licence
