Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Symmetric Recruitment Ltd.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing new components and equipment for maritime and sub-sea applications.
The company's projects involve the design, testing, construction, and ongoing maintenance of complex bespoke systems for marine applications.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in Autodesk Inventor (or similar systems) and a good understanding of engineering design codes and international standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing new components and equipment for maritime and sub-sea applications
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement design solutions
- Verifying designs by calculation and ensuring compliance with engineering design codes and international standards
- Producing formal engineering drawings and design submittal documentation
- Liaising with clients and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery
The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Experience in Autodesk Inventor (or similar systems)
- A good understanding of engineering design codes and international standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
